Senior Accountant

PING, Inc., maker of PING golf equipment, is seeking a Senior Accountant. This position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager. This position will work in a cross-functional team to help analyze the financial impact of new product development and ongoing manufacturing operations. This position will analyze and communicate operating results and present key analysis to top management. This position will assist in the quarterly inventory, margin analysis and monthly close process.

 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum four years’ accounting experience, two of which in public accounting (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment and presenting financial results to upper management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Self-initiative and ability to work with minimum of direction under pressure.
  • Superior organization and project management skills.

You Will:
  • Participate in initiation phase of new product lines to assist in design for cost-effective manufacturing. Build tooling by motion economy principles. Provide feedback to engineering and other personnel.
  • Ensure process improvement through layout, flow and logistics, equipment design and implementation, documentation and procedures. Achieve cost effective quality control and material usage.
  • Interface with design engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and other departments.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to production floor in the areas of machine malfunction, evaluation, machine problem solving.
  • Coordinate company activities related to new product introductions, to include chairing meetings, maintaining and issuing schedule information. Interface with vendors. Set specification for new (indirect) material. Perform testing. Determine purchasing information.
  • Establish training programs. Develop monitoring techniques and gauges. Determine manufacturing procedures to maintain quality.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in the field.
 
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field from a properly accredited college or university.
  • Previous Manufacturing Engineering work is preferred but not required.
  • High level of computer literacy: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS SharePoint.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints.
  • Thorough knowledge of drafting principles.
  • Understand the principles of CFM (continuous flow manufacturing).
  • Knowledge about golf and golf equipment is a plus.

Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer at PING, you will have the opportunity to combine your experienced passion for the game of golf with your engineering knowledge to develop the best performing golf equipment in the world.  You will design main line hard good products such as drivers, fairway woods, hybrids or irons along with sub-components such as grips, weights and various fasteners.  Your primary product development responsibilities include CAD model development, prototype creation, and validation of your designs on our test range located right outside our office doorstep.  Your projects will satisfy performance goals, remain on schedule, and maintain proper budgets.  PING design engineers are experts in the field of golf, physics, CAD modeling, and maintain a solid understanding of the many technical tradeoffs associated with golf club design.  The role is a very exciting, rewarding career choice that provides the opportunity to grow in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment.

You Will:
  • Lead on-time completion of detailed metal wood, iron and related component CAD designs. 
  • Conduct short term technical research projects to support design optimization. 
  • Manage prototype development and hands-on product testing, in support of golf physics knowledge creation. 
  • Create product specification documents for all assigned components.
  • Research and integrate innovative design and manufacturing technologies into finished designs.
  • Participate in problem solving activities to support PING’s long-term knowledge capture system.
  • Work closely with Project Engineering team and suppliers to ensure successful, on-time commercialization of industry leading product.
  • Identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risk items for new designs using FMEA methodology.
  • Work closely with Innovation team to provide CAD support for long term R&D efforts.
 
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline, from an accredited University.  Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years design experience in golf / hard goods product development.
  • Prior experience in golf club design, development testing, and failure mode analysis.
  • A passion for golf, the golf industry and excellent knowledge of golf equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Creo Elements or similar CAD software. 
  • Proven ability to finish projects in a challenging, time sensitive environment. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10-20%)

Molding Process Engineer

You Will:
  • Be a key contributor for developing molding processes for advanced manufacturing and innovation concepts.
  • Support and shadow senior molding engineers to establish repeatable process and procedures for new and existing molding equipment, current materials, and their associated molds.
  • Work with design and innovation departments on researching and baselining properties and processing of new composite and thermoplastic materials.
  • Work with the Analysis and Testing department to establish appropriate test methods and workflow to database process parameters and their associated mechanical properties.
  • Design open and closed mold tools; integrate heating and cooling elements and associated control hardware. Work with internal and external suppliers for the creation of molds and tooling.
  • Coordinate with PING molding operations to maximize availability of production molding assets for research endeavors.
  • Support engineering knowledge environment efforts by documenting project status and development processes through all project phases.
 
You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymers Engineering, Materials Science or similar discipline, from an accredited University.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related manufacturing or process engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of Creo (Preferred), Elements, NX or similar CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of composites and thermoplastics testing.
  • Mold flow experience a plus.
  • Strong experience with establishing processes and analyzing variations with statistical tools and design of experiments.
  • Experience designing composite structures, closed mold tooling, compression molding, adhesive bonding, fusion welding (of thermoplastics) a definite plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
  • Ability to assemble and join components and assemblies.

Product Specialist

PING, Inc., maker of PING golf equipment, is seeking a Product Specialist. This Phoenix, Arizona based position reports to the Fitting Manager and will have overall responsibility for, among other things, providing excellent customer service, fitting consumers with PING’s latest product offerings, and conducting facility tours.  Must be available to travel a month at a time.

 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a properly accredited college or university, plus one year related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Company, PING product line, golf and the golf industry.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • 39 Month MVR must not include:
    • more than one accident or moving violation within the past 12 months, no more than two accidents or moving violations within the prior 36 months;
    • a DUI/DWI citation;
    • a speed violation greater than 20 mph above the posted limit;
    • a hit and run citation;
    • a reckless driving citation.
 
Responsibilities
  • Perform the duties of Consumer Relations Specialist when scheduled.  Promote excellent customer and consumer relations.
  • Represent the company at trade or consumer demo/fitting days and seminars throughout the country, providing product information, insight, fitting and technical support on all PING products.
  • Work through PGA sections, regions and individual accounts to educate them on the product, brand, and Company.
  • Participate in consumer and/or trade shows.
  • Work directly with and support local field representatives.
  • Serve as a research tentacle by obtaining information on products, policies, and brand through face-to-face contact with customers and consumers.  Provide this information to product managers, engineering, and management.
  • Provide minor club repair, including loft and lie adjustments, professional fitting and problem solving.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to professionally present products to customers with professionalism, conviction, and complete product knowledge.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills.  
  • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Computer literate:  Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
